Summer, Employment and Documentation!

It's been a while since the last update, but I think this is probably the most hectic my life has been, and I just wish it was an over exaggeration! I've been working non-stop for the past few months now, going from two University modules due at the beginning of April, to the FYP that was due in the beginning of May. After the FYP, I was commissioned by a games company to create a design document, as well as concept some parts myself, including mini-games and a trading card game, something I was especially glad to be given the opportunity to do. With the document complete at a staggering 112 pages (which was completed in just 5 days!), I had a short three day break before starting my summer job.

I am certainly glad for the opportunities, but I'm eager for a nice break soon! This will have to wait until the Japan trip in July though, as until then I have work, my FYP presentation and GradEx to tussle with! GradEx is creeping up, taking place back in Stafford this Friday. I'm currently using my weekend to prep for this and the interview, with business cards coming out of my ears and overdosing on Powerpoint. Still, I'm excited to see what is made of my work, and at the very least put my name to the industry. If you are reading this after taking one of my business cards on Friday, hello! Please give me a job!

Of course, I am set to start my master's year in September, which will be the final year in the University saga. Hopefully this year will be a great bolster to my portfolio, as well as giving me those fabled extra letters on my title and all of the other lovely benefits. Should we disregard the course cost anyway! On to the main points of this post though!

I am slowly moving my existing blog posts into a new blog, one that allows commenting and is generally a lot easier for me to handle. After this is finished, it will replace this blog segment of the site. I have also uploaded my FYP documents in preparation for GradEx, so if you fancy a look or have come here simply to see them, you can find them on my Scribd account here and here!

GradEx is most certainly not the end of the work over the summer! I have plans for a few projects over the summer, but only time will tell if I can make some significant headway while I am working a 9 til 5! A second card game, as well as an iPhone app are on the cards, but we'll see if they make it off the master plan.

Thanks for reading!
